Turn Any Picture into Something Worth Sharing
Adding text to an image is one of the easiest ways to create something more informative, attractive or memorable. Whether you're making a social media graphic, greeting card, poster, invitation, product image or a simple labelled photograph, this tool lets you add and style text quickly and accurately.
The app works entirely in your browser and is free to use. There is no registration, no software to install and no limit on how many images you can edit. You can add one text box or several, with each one having its own wording, appearance and position.
What this app does
After uploading an image, you can add one or more text boxes anywhere on the picture. Each text box can have its own font, size, colours, outline, shadow, glow, background, rotation and other effects, making it easy to create anything from a simple caption to a professionally styled poster.
The app has been designed to work well on both desktop computers and mobile devices. On a desktop computer you can position text by dragging it with the mouse or by using the position controls. On phones and tablets, text is positioned using the horizontal and vertical sliders, giving precise control without covering the image with your finger.
When you're happy with the result, download the finished image as a JPG, PNG or WebP file.
How to use the app
Click Upload Image, or drag an image into the upload area if you're using a desktop computer.
The app automatically creates your first text box. Type your wording into the Selected Text box.
Desktop users can drag the selected text into position with the mouse or use the Horizontal Position and Vertical Position sliders for fine adjustments.
Mobile and tablet users position text using the Horizontal Position and Vertical Position sliders. This gives accurate positioning while keeping the controls easy to use on a touch screen.
To add more wording, click Add Text Box. Use the Text Box to Edit list to choose which text box you want to change. Each text box can have completely different fonts, colours and effects.
Use the styling controls to adjust the font, size, weight, line height, letter spacing, rotation, text colour, outline, shadow, glow and background until you're happy with the result.
If you make a mistake, the Undo and Redo buttons let you step backwards or forwards through your recent changes. To remove all the added text and return to the original uploaded picture, click Reload Original Image.
Finally, choose the download format you want and click Download. The edited image is saved as a new file, leaving your original picture unchanged.
