Want to turn your photo into a mosaic?
This Mosaic Photo Tool transforms an ordinary photograph into artwork made from small coloured tiles. You can choose from several different mosaic styles, adjust the size and appearance of the tiles, and create anything from a traditional ceramic mosaic to colourful stained glass or modern geometric designs. Every change appears immediately, making it easy to experiment with different looks.
Upload your picture
Click Upload Image or drag a picture into the upload area to begin. Clear photographs with well-defined shapes usually produce the best mosaics, although almost any image can be transformed.
If you want to compare your work with the original photograph, click Original Image at any time, then return to the edited version whenever you are ready.
Choose a mosaic style
The app includes a range of different tile styles, including Ceramic, Glass, Roman, Pebble, Marble, Slate, Stained Glass and Modern Square. Each style has its own character, colours and surface finish, giving you plenty of variety without needing to start again from scratch.
You can also use the built-in presets to create vibrant, natural, soft pastel or high-contrast versions before making your own adjustments.
Adjust the tile appearance
The controls allow you to change tile size, grout width, edge irregularity, colour variation, bevel depth, shine, detail level, contrast and colour richness. Together these settings let you create anything from neat modern patterns to more traditional handcrafted mosaics.
You can also choose your own grout colour to complement the finished design and change the overall appearance of the artwork.
Create your own design
There is no single correct combination of settings. Smaller tiles usually preserve more detail, while larger tiles create a bolder decorative effect. Increasing colour variation can make the mosaic look more natural, and adjusting the bevel and shine changes how the individual tiles catch the light.
If you would like some inspiration, the Randomise button creates a new combination of settings that you can refine further.
Download your finished mosaic
When you are happy with the result, download the finished image as a JPG, PNG or WebP file. Your original photograph remains unchanged, so you can always return and create a completely different mosaic style from the same picture whenever you like.
